Raymond Murray Schafer [André Leduc]

In March 2008, the National Arts Centre presented eXpressions: A Tribute to R. Murray Schafer, in honour of Schafer’s enormous contributions to Canadian music and in celebration of his 75th birthday. The eXpressions festival featured concerts and workshops that showcased Schafer’s extraordinarily rich and varied legacy as a composer and educator.

Schafer and the Molinari String Quartet

Murray Schafer and Montreal’s Molinari String Quartet perform and discuss selections from Schafer’s celebrated string quartets at Canterbury High School in Ottawa. The musicians of the Molinari Quartet are the foremost interpreters of Schafer’s quartet repertoire, and this presentation includes complete performances of movements from Schafer’s String Quartets Nos. 3 and 10.
